Fall is our season. The light, the foliage, the air quality, the styling conditions — everything converges in October to make Northeast Ohio wedding photography look effortless. Here's what the season actually offers.
Why fall works so well for hair
The humidity drops significantly by September. Where a June day might require specific humidity-management products and product load, an October day allows lighter products and more natural movement. Hair holds differently — better, in most cases — in cool, dry air.
The styling range expands in fall. Fully down looks that would fight humidity in August become genuinely achievable. Loose, textured styles that require dry conditions to work properly work properly.
October light
October sunlight in Northeast Ohio has a quality that June and August don't — lower angle, warmer tone, longer golden hour. Every photographer who works fall season knows the photos are easier. The light does more of the work.
October is when I'd get married if I were doing it again. The conditions are perfect in a way that no other month consistently delivers in Ohio.
What to watch for
Late October brings static electricity — a nuisance for fine hair in particular. Indoor heating at venues can dry out the scalp and affect how products perform. Neither of these is a problem when we know about them; both are addressable at the trial.
October is our most fully-booked month. If your date is fall, reach out early.
